Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The Truth of the Evangelical History of Our Lord Jesus Christ: Proved, in Opposition to D. F. Strauss is a book written by William Honyman Gillespie in 1856. The book is a defense of the historical accuracy of the Gospels in the New Testament, specifically in response to the claims of David Friedrich Strauss, a German theologian who argued that the Gospels were not reliable historical sources. Gillespie uses a combination of biblical scholarship, historical analysis, and theological argumentation to refute Strauss's claims and assert the truth of the Gospel accounts of Jesus Christ's life, teachings, and miracles. The book is a significant contribution to the ongoing debate over the historical reliability of the Bible and remains relevant to contemporary discussions of Christian theology and biblical interpretation. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
