Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Three of the Comedies of Terence: Andria, Adelphi and Phormio is a book written by the ancient Roman playwright Terence. The book was first published in 1889 and contains three of Terence's most famous works. The first play, Andria, tells the story of a young man named Pamphilus who falls in love with a woman named Philumena, but faces obstacles when her father forbids them to be together. The second play, Adelphi, follows two brothers who were raised apart and must learn to live together when they are reunited. The final play, Phormio, centers around a young man named Antipho who hires a cunning lawyer named Phormio to help him win his lover's hand in marriage. Throughout the book, Terence uses humor and wit to explore themes of love, family, and social class. The plays are written in Latin but have been translated into English for modern readers. The book is a valuable resource for those interested in ancient Roman literature and theater, as well as anyone who enjoys classic comedies. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
