Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

""Women and the Temperance Reformation"" is a book written by Clara Lucas Balfour in 1849. The book focuses on the role of women in the temperance movement, which aimed to promote abstinence from alcohol. Balfour argues that women should be at the forefront of this movement, as they are the ones who suffer the most from the negative effects of alcohol on their families and communities. She provides historical examples of women who have been instrumental in promoting temperance, such as the Women's Christian Temperance Union. Balfour also discusses the social and economic factors that contribute to alcohol abuse and advocates for the education and empowerment of women to effect change. This book is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history of the temperance movement and the role of women in social reform. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
