Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

A Supplicacyon For The Beggers is a book written by Simon Fish in 1529. The book is a passionate plea for the rights and welfare of the poor and the destitute in England during the Tudor period. Fish argues that the beggars are not the cause of poverty, but rather the victims of a system that fails to provide for their basic needs. He calls for the establishment of a national system of poor relief, which would provide food, shelter, and medical care to those in need. Fish's writing is both powerful and poignant, and his arguments are supported by numerous examples and anecdotes. The book is considered to be one of the earliest and most influential works of social criticism in English literature. This edition of the book was published in 1845 and includes an introduction and notes by the editor. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
