Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

A Tale For The Pharisees is a novel written by William Gilbert and first published in 1859. The story is set in London and revolves around the life of a wealthy merchant named Simon, who is a devout Pharisee. Simon is proud of his wealth and status, and he looks down upon those who are less fortunate than him.One day, Simon meets a young woman named Rachel, who is poor and struggling to make ends meet. Despite his initial disdain for her, Simon is drawn to Rachel and begins to help her financially. As he gets to know her better, Simon realizes that he has been too quick to judge others based on their social status.Throughout the novel, Simon grapples with his own beliefs and prejudices, as he learns to see people for who they truly are, rather than just their outward appearance. The story is a powerful commentary on the dangers of pride and the importance of empathy and compassion.A Tale For The Pharisees is a thought-provoking and engaging work of literature that continues to resonate with readers today. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
