Cicero's Pro A. Licinio Archia Poeta Oratio is a Latin text that was first published in 1878. The book is a speech given by Cicero in defense of the poet Archias, who was accused of falsely claiming Roman citizenship. Cicero argues that Archias is a talented poet who has contributed greatly to Roman culture and deserves the rights and privileges of a citizen. The speech is considered a masterpiece of Roman oratory and is studied as an example of how to construct a persuasive argument. The book includes the original Latin text of the speech, as well as an English translation and commentary by the editor. It is a valuable resource for scholars of Roman history, literature, and rhetoric. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
