Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The book ""Authority of Scripture: An Examination into the Principles and Statements Advanced in Professor Jowett's Essay on the Interpretation of Scripture"" by James Fendall, published in 1861, is a critical analysis of an essay by Professor Benjamin Jowett on the interpretation of scripture. Fendall delves into the principles and statements put forth by Jowett, examining them in detail and providing his own arguments and counterarguments. The central theme of the book is the authority of scripture, and Fendall argues that Jowett's views on the subject are flawed and dangerous. He asserts that the Bible is the inspired word of God and that its authority must be upheld. The book is an important work in the field of biblical interpretation and provides valuable insights into the debates surrounding the authority of scripture in the 19th century. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
