""Look Before You Leap, Or Wooings And Weddings: A Comedy In Five Acts"" is a play written by George William Lovell and first published in 1846. The play tells the story of two young couples who are trying to navigate the complexities of courtship and marriage in Victorian England. The main characters are Sir Charles and Lady Harriet, who are trying to arrange a marriage between their daughter, Emily, and a wealthy, titled gentleman named Lord Tinsel. However, Emily is in love with a young man named Frank, who is not of the same social status as Lord Tinsel. Meanwhile, Sir Charles' nephew, Harry, is also trying to win the heart of a young woman named Lucy, but he faces his own obstacles in the form of a rival suitor and his own lack of confidence. The play is a lighthearted comedy that explores themes of love, class, and social conventions in Victorian society. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
