Waifs and Strays: A Story of London Streets is a novel published by the Religious Tract Society in 1883. The book is a fictional account of the lives of impoverished children living on the streets of London during the late 19th century. The story follows the lives of two young siblings, Dick and Nell, who are orphaned and forced to fend for themselves in the harsh and unforgiving streets of London. The novel explores themes of poverty, homelessness, and the struggles faced by children living on the streets. It also highlights the efforts of charitable organizations and individuals who work to help these children. The book is written in a sentimental and moralistic style, typical of Victorian literature, and aims to raise awareness of the plight of London's street children.
