Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Mungo Park and the Niger is a book written by Joseph Thomson and published in 1890. The book is a biography of Mungo Park, a Scottish explorer who was the first European to travel through the central portion of the Niger River. The book chronicles Park's two expeditions to Africa, the first in 1795 and the second in 1805, and his encounters with the local tribes, the geography of the region, and the challenges he faced during his travels. The book also provides insights into Park's personal life, including his marriage, family, and his struggles to secure funding for his expeditions. Mungo Park and the Niger is a well-researched and engaging account of one of the most important explorers of the 18th century and his contributions to the exploration of Africa. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
