Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The Canterville Ghost is a witty and humorous novella written by Oscar Wilde in 1906. The story revolves around the ghost of Sir Simon de Canterville, who has been haunting Canterville Chase, an English country house, for over three centuries. The story begins with the arrival of an American family, the Otis family, who purchase Canterville Chase, and move in despite warnings about the ghost. The ghost, who is used to scaring people, finds himself unable to frighten the Otis family, who treat him with a mixture of disdain and amusement. The ghost's attempts to scare them only result in comical situations, and eventually, he becomes the butt of their jokes. The story is a satirical take on the American and British cultures, and their attitudes towards the supernatural. The Canterville Ghost is a delightful read, full of Wilde's signature wit and humor, and a must-read for anyone who enjoys a good ghost story with a twist. When His Ancestral Halls Became The Home Of The American Minister To The Court Of St. James. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
