Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The Carnival of Death is a poem written by Thomas Bailey in 1822, consisting of two cantos. The poem is a dark and eerie tale that explores the theme of death and the afterlife, as well as the human experience of mortality. The first canto begins with a description of a carnival that takes place in a graveyard, where the dead rise from their graves to dance and celebrate. The narrator, who is also dead, observes the festivities and reflects on the nature of life and death. The second canto delves deeper into the afterlife, exploring the different realms that souls pass through on their journey to the afterlife. The poem is written in a Gothic style, with vivid and haunting imagery that creates a sense of foreboding and unease. Overall, The Carnival of Death is a thought-provoking and macabre work that offers a unique perspective on the human experience of mortality. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
