Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The Story of Australasia is a historical book written by Greville Tregarthen, first published in 1893. The book covers the history of the six colonies that make up Australasia - New South Wales, Tasmania, Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria, and Queensland - as well as New Zealand. Tregarthen provides a comprehensive overview of the political, social, and economic developments that shaped each colony, from their early settlement by Europeans to the late 19th century. The book includes detailed accounts of significant events such as the gold rushes, the development of transportation and communication infrastructure, and the establishment of colonial governments. Tregarthen also explores the impact of colonization on the Indigenous peoples of Australasia, providing a critical perspective on the treatment of Aboriginal and Maori communities. The Story of Australasia is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history of the region and the impact of colonialism on its peoples. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
