The Authorship of the Book of Deuteronomy: With Its Bearings on the Higher Criticism of the Pentateuch is a book written by John William McGarvey and published in 1902. The book explores the question of who wrote the biblical book of Deuteronomy and how this impacts the overall criticism of the Pentateuch, the first five books of the Hebrew Bible. McGarvey examines the evidence for and against the traditional view that Moses wrote Deuteronomy, as well as considering alternative theories proposed by biblical scholars. The book also discusses the historical and cultural context of Deuteronomy and its theological significance.
