Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The Authorship of the Fourth Gospel: And Other Critical Essays is a book published in 1888 by Ezra Abbot. This book is a collection of essays that deal with various critical issues related to the authorship of the fourth Gospel in the New Testament. In the first essay, Abbot discusses the question of whether the apostle John was the author of the Gospel. This is a controversial issue that has been debated by scholars for centuries. Abbot provides a detailed analysis of the evidence for and against John's authorship, and he concludes that it is unlikely that John wrote the Gospel. In the other essays, Abbot discusses other critical issues related to the New Testament, including the authenticity of the Gospel of Matthew and the authorship of the Epistle to the Hebrews. He also examines the relationship between the Synoptic Gospels and the Gospel of John, and he discusses the use of the Greek language in the New Testament.Overall, The Authorship of the Fourth Gospel: And Other Critical Essays is a valuable resource for scholars and students of the New Testament. Abbot's careful analysis and thoughtful arguments provide insights into some of the most important questions related to the authorship and authenticity of the New Testament. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
