Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The Gathas of Zarathushtra, Zoroaster: In Metre and Rhythm is a book written by Lawrence Heyworth Mills and published in 1900. The book is a collection of poems, or gathas, attributed to the ancient Persian prophet Zarathushtra, also known as Zoroaster. The gathas are written in an ancient form of Persian and are considered to be the oldest surviving texts of the Zoroastrian religion.Mills' book provides a translation of the gathas into English, along with an analysis of their meter and rhythm. He also includes a discussion of the historical and cultural context of the gathas, as well as their significance within the Zoroastrian religion. The gathas themselves are a series of hymns that express Zarathushtra's views on the nature of God, the universe, and the human condition. They contain philosophical and ethical teachings, as well as descriptions of rituals and prayers.Overall, The Gathas of Zarathushtra, Zoroaster: In Metre and Rhythm is a valuable resource for scholars of ancient Persian religion and literature, as well as anyone interested in the history and philosophy of the Zoroastrian faith. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
