Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The Miller And His Men: A Burlesque Mealy-Drama, In One Act is a play written by Francis Talfourd in 1860. The play is a humorous take on the popular genre of melodrama, which was popular in the 19th century. The story follows the adventures of a miller and his band of misfit followers as they try to outsmart a group of villains. The play is filled with exaggerated characters and situations, including a hero with a wooden leg, a villain with a hook for a hand, and a damsel in distress who faints at the slightest provocation. The Miller And His Men is a satirical look at the melodramatic style of theater that was popular in its time, and its humor has made it a popular choice for amateur and professional theater companies. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
