Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The Trial Of George Gordon, Commonly Called Lord George Gordon, For High Treason (1781) is a historical book written by William Vincent. The book recounts the trial of George Gordon, a British aristocrat and politician who was accused of high treason during the Gordon Riots of 1780. The riots were a series of violent protests against the Papists Act, which relaxed some of the restrictions on Catholics in England. Gordon was the leader of the Protestant Association, which organized the riots. The book provides a detailed account of the trial, including the evidence presented, the arguments made by the prosecution and defense, and the verdict. It also includes a brief biography of Gordon and an overview of the events leading up to the riots. The book is a valuable resource for anyone interested in British history, law, and politics. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
