Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Treasury Of The Scottish Covenant (1887) is a historical book authored by John C. Johnston. The book is a comprehensive collection of documents, letters, and treaties that were signed during the Scottish Covenanters' movement in the 17th century. The Scottish Covenanters were a group of Presbyterian Scots who opposed the English monarchy's attempt to impose Anglican worship on the Scottish Church. The book includes the National Covenant of 1638, which was a declaration of Scottish independence from English interference in religious matters. It also contains the Solemn League and Covenant of 1643, which was a treaty between the Scottish Covenanters and the English Parliamentarians to fight against the Royalists in the English Civil War. The book provides a detailed account of the Scottish Covenanters' struggle for religious freedom and their role in shaping Scottish history. It is a valuable resource for scholars, historians, and anyone interested in the history of Scotland and the Presbyterian Church. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
