Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

""Your Affectionate Godmother"" is a novel by Elinor Glyn, first published in 1914. The story follows the life of a young girl named Sylvia, who is taken in as a ward by her wealthy godmother, Lady Joanna. Lady Joanna is a glamorous and sophisticated woman who takes Sylvia under her wing and introduces her to high society. However, Sylvia soon realizes that Lady Joanna's intentions may not be entirely altruistic, and she must navigate the complex relationships and social hierarchies of the upper class in order to find her place in the world. Along the way, she falls in love with a dashing young man named Jack, but their romance is threatened by Lady Joanna's machinations. The novel explores themes of love, ambition, and the corrupting influence of power and wealth, and is a classic example of the ""society novel"" genre popular in the early 20th century. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
