Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Israel's Mission to Oliver Cromwell is a historical account of Menasseh Ben Israel's efforts to gain permission for Jews to settle in England during the 17th century. Menasseh Ben Israel was a prominent rabbi and scholar who believed that the return of Jews to England would hasten the Second Coming of Christ. He traveled to England in 1655 and met with Oliver Cromwell, the Lord Protector of England, to plead his case. The book details the political and religious climate of the time, as well as Menasseh Ben Israel's arguments and Cromwell's response. It also explores the broader context of Jewish history and the diaspora, as well as the impact of Menasseh Ben Israel's mission on Jewish communities around the world. This book offers a fascinating glimpse into an important moment in Jewish history and the broader history of England during the 17th century. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
