Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The 1990s, for Cecil Robbins, are ending on a quiet note. He gets around on one good foot, he's overweight, and he's lonely more often than not, but he doesn't complain about the life he has now. There's even the cute girl who works at the funeral home that he likes. Then life surprises him with the news of the death of the girl from his past. Audrey Jeane was bigger than his first love and closer than his best friend. She was the girl that got him into trouble, the girl that helped him laugh about his life, and the girl who brought out the best in him. How could a force of nature like her be gone? As he tries to carry on with life and do justice to her memory, Cecil remembers the best times and worst times of his life, and how Audrey Jeane was there for all of them. Vacancy tells a story of loss and heartbreak, but also the happiness our favorite people bring into our lives that makes us miss them so much-and how we defend their memories from the lies others tell when they're gone.
