This book is designed to provide group leaders with a resource to construct effective frameworks within which young players (under the age of 16) can develop the skills required for rugby union. The focus is on the basic skills and concepts that should be at the heart of any good player's game, and for this reason you will see an emphasis on the themes of movement and core passing and catching skills. Highly complex, advanced tactical drills have not been included as they are not appropriate for this age group. Experiences in the important early years of life can determine whether or not children continue to play into adult life and can, in many cases, colour their view of sport in general.
