Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Rick Wilking has seen it all from behind the lens. He's shot hurricanes, riots and U.S. presidents beginning in the Seventies when transporting gear was an expensive, backbreaking affair. In Hummingbird we learn how Wilking's innate faith and sometimes risky initiative helped him to navigate a successful career and family life from launching points in Colorado and Europe to the Oval Office and home again. We're invited along for the ride as he recalls the highs and lows of his fascinating vocation. What's the secret to making a living doing what you love? What's success really about? A lot has changed in the world of news reporting since bathtub darkrooms. But Wilking continues to tell stories with photojournalism into the new millennium. While his methods may change (drones for film), the requisite experience, sensitivity and humor are still king in this rapid, fleeting, perfectly imperfect profession.
