Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

"You should read Hamlet. A lot of other books refer to Hamlet. You should read Shakespeare because a lot of other books refer to Shakespeare and if you don't understand Shakespeare, then there's a whole bunch of books you can't understand." That is what Dr. Jordan Peterson said about reading Shakespeare. Let me add, Marlowe, Dryer, Ford, and so forth. The literature from the Early Modern period is rich in texture and nuanced ideas. And yet, so many are afraid to read the plays or go to the theatre to see this gorgeous body of entertainment. And many theatre companies are afraid to produce the plays because finding actors that can handle the language is a challenge. No longer! Trippingly on the Tongue has been around for 20 years. Many have taken advantage of this little book that unlocks the secrets of understanding the language of Shakespeare and others from the golden age of English literature. After hearing what Dr. Peterson said, I shook off the dust. This book is back in circulation with a new cover. Not only that, I've decided it is time to do a little teaching of Early Modern English.
