While it has not been established that hypertrophic cardiomyopathy maybeacomplicationofviral myocarditis, asymmetrical septal hypertrophy has, in fact, sometimesbeen observed in patients with myocarditis. TheimportanceofhepatitisCvirusinfectionhasrecentlybeen notedinpatientswithmyocarditis,dilatedandhypertrophiccardiomyopathy.
