Über den Autor

Tom Clancy, geboren 1948 in Baltimore, ist einer der erfolgreichsten und bekanntesten Thrillerautoren. Zuvor jahrelang als Versicherungsagent tätig, hatte er schon immer davon geträumt, einen Roman zu schreiben. Sein Debüt machte Clancy mit dem Techno-Thriller "Jagd auf Roter Oktober", welcher hervorragende Kritiken erhielt und zum internationalen Erfolg avancierte. Auch die Verfilmung mit Sean Connery in der Hauptrolle fand Anklang beim Publikum. Seitdem waren all seine Romane regelmäßig auf den ersten Plätzen der Bestsellerlisten zu finden. Besonders bekannt ist der Autor für seine Jack-Ryan-Reihe, die insgesamt 27 Teile umfasst. Clancy verstarb im Oktober 2013.
