Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Memoirs of Madame de Motteville on Anne of Austria and Her Court V3 is a historical account of the life of Anne of Austria, the queen consort of France during the 17th century. Written by Madame de Motteville, a lady-in-waiting to the queen, the book provides a unique perspective on the daily life and political intrigues of the French court during this period. The third volume of the memoirs covers the period from 1643 to 1652, a time of great upheaval in France, including the Fronde rebellion and the regency of Anne of Austria. Madame de Motteville's writing style is lively and engaging, and she provides intimate details about the personalities and relationships of the courtiers, including the queen herself. This book is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history of France during the 17th century, as well as for those interested in the lives of powerful women in history.1903. Translated by Katherine Prescott Wormeley. Motteville began her memoirs by writing from time to time by what seemed the remarkable, but then turned into a defense of Anne of Austria. As a biographer, Motteville is recognized as accurate and thorough and her Memoirs, which includes documents found nowhere else, have been used by historians as a chief source of information on the mid-century conflict known as the Fronde.
