""The Twig of Thorn"" is a two-act play that tells the story of an Irish fairy who falls in love with a mortal man. The fairy, named Aine, is punished by her queen for breaking the rules of the fairy world and is transformed into a twig of thorn. She is then discovered by the mortal man, Donal, who takes her home and cares for her. As they spend time together, they fall in love, but their relationship is threatened by the interference of the fairy queen and the mortal world's disapproval of their union.
