St. Nicholas Songs is a book of poetry written by Waldo S. Pratt. The collection includes a series of songs that celebrate the spirit of Christmas and the life of Saint Nicholas. The poems are written in a lyrical style, with rhyming verses and a musical cadence that makes them easy to read aloud. The themes of the poems range from the joy and wonder of the holiday season to the importance of generosity and kindness. The book is illustrated with charming black and white drawings that capture the spirit of the poems. St. Nicholas Songs is a delightful addition to any holiday bookshelf, and is sure to become a treasured part of any family's Christmas traditions.1885. With illustrations. This collection of songs is novel in form and purpose in that they originated from the thought that many of the poems of St. Nicholas merited a musical setting. American and English composers contributed, resulting in 112 songs being chosen. There is a representation of naive and humorous fancies of childhood and many lullabies and mothers' songs are also included. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
