Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The Basia of Joannes Secundus is a collection of Latin love poems that have been translated into English verse. Joannes Secundus, a 16th-century Dutch poet, wrote these poems as a tribute to his lover, Anna. The poems are filled with passionate expressions of love, desire, and devotion. The translator has attempted to capture the beauty and intensity of Secundus' original work while making it accessible to modern readers. This book is a must-read for anyone interested in classical poetry, love, and romance. To Which Is Added The Epithalamium With The English Version Of George Ogle. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
