Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The Story Of The Diamond Necklace V2, written by Henry Vizetelly, is a historical account of one of the most infamous scandals in 18th century France. The book chronicles the events surrounding the diamond necklace affair, which involved a costly piece of jewelry that was intended for Queen Marie Antoinette but was never delivered to her. Instead, the necklace was sold to a group of swindlers who convinced a woman named Jeanne de la Motte to pose as the queen and acquire the necklace on her behalf. The scandal eventually led to the downfall of several high-ranking officials and further damaged the already-tarnished reputation of the French monarchy. Vizetelly's book provides a detailed and engaging retelling of this fascinating historical event, drawing on contemporary accounts and primary sources to bring the story to life for modern readers.Volume Two of Two.
