Excalibur: An Arthurian Drama is a play written by Ralph Adams Cram. The story is based on the legend of King Arthur and his knights of the Round Table. The play opens with the arrival of Merlin, the wizard, who brings the magical sword Excalibur to Arthur, proving his claim to the throne. The play then follows Arthur's journey as he unites the warring tribes of Britain and establishes his kingdom. Along the way, he faces challenges from his half-sister Morgause and her son Mordred, as well as from the treacherous knight Lancelot and his affair with Arthur's wife Guinevere.
