Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Milan and Mantua is a travel memoir written by the famous Italian adventurer and writer, Jacques Casanova. The book is a vivid account of his travels to the cities of Milan and Mantua in Italy during the 18th century. The memoir is filled with detailed descriptions of the architecture, art, culture, and people of these two cities. Casanova's writing style is engaging and he provides an intimate glimpse into the daily life and customs of the people he encounters. He also shares his personal experiences and encounters with various notable figures, including the Duke of Mantua and the Archbishop of Milan. Milan and Mantua is a fascinating read for anyone interested in Italian history, culture, and society during the 18th century.I had felt interested in the young Frenchwoman when she was hiding under the bed-clothes: she had taken my fancy the moment she had shewn her features, and still more when I had seen her dressed. She completed her conquest at the dinner-table by the display of a wit which I greatly admired. It is rare in Italy, and seems to belong generally to the daughters of France. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
