Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

My Mark Twain is a book written by William Dean Howells, a friend and contemporary of the famous American author Mark Twain. The book is a memoir and collection of personal anecdotes about Howells' experiences with Twain, including their first meeting and their travels together. Howells also discusses Twain's writing process and his literary achievements, as well as their shared views on politics and social issues. The book provides insight into the friendship between two of America's most celebrated writers, and offers a unique perspective on the life and work of Mark Twain. We had a jubilant fortnight in working the particulars of these things out. It was not possible for Clemens to write like anybody else, but I could very easily write like Clemens, and we took the play scene and scene about, quite secure of coming out in temperamental agreement. The characters remained for the most part his, and I varied them only to make them more like his than, if possible, he could. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
