Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Pollyanna Grows Up is a novel written by Eleanor H. Porter and is the sequel to the popular children's book Pollyanna. The story follows the main character, Pollyanna, as she grows up and faces new challenges in her life. After being injured in a car accident, Pollyanna is sent to live with Mrs. Carew, a wealthy woman who becomes her guardian. Pollyanna discovers that Mrs. Carew is not as kind as she appears and struggles to adapt to her new life. Along the way, Pollyanna reconnects with old friends and makes new ones, including a young orphan named Jimmy Bean. As she navigates through various obstacles, Pollyanna continues to spread her message of positivity and hope, inspiring those around her to find joy in even the darkest of situations. The novel explores themes of resilience, forgiveness, and the power of optimism.""Ho--ho! Brrrr!"" spluttered the big man, coloring like a schoolboy and throwing back his head with a hearty laugh. ""Ho--ho! Just as if--"" He broke off with a quick lifting of his hand. The next moment he was escorting a plainly very much frightened little old lady from curb to curb. If his step were a bit more pompous, and his chest a bit more full, it must have been only an unconscious tribute to the watching eyes of the little girl back at the starting-point. A moment later, with a haughtily permissive wave of his hand toward the chafing drivers and chauffeurs, he strolled back to Pollyanna. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
