""San Francisco During The Eventful Days Of April 1906"" is a historical account of the devastating earthquake and subsequent fire that struck San Francisco on April 18, 1906. Written by James B. Stetson, the book provides a detailed and vivid description of the chaos and destruction that occurred during those fateful days. The author draws upon personal accounts, newspaper articles, and official reports to paint a picture of the city in crisis. Stetson also discusses the aftermath of the disaster, including the efforts to rebuild and the impact on the city's residents. This book is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history of San Francisco and the events that shaped the city.As soon as it was over I got up and went to the window, and saw the air in the street filled with a white dust, which was caused by the falling of masonry from St. Luke's Church on the diagonal corner from my room. I waited for the dust to settle, and I then saw the damage which had been done to Claus Spreckels's house and the church. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
