Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

""The Religion of the Old Testament: Its Place Among the Religions of the Nearer East"" by Karl Marti is a comprehensive study of the religion of the ancient Israelites as it relates to the religious practices of other cultures in the Near East. The book examines the historical context in which the Old Testament was written and the influence of neighboring cultures on the development of Israelite religion. Marti explores the similarities and differences between the beliefs and practices of the Israelites and their neighbors, including the Babylonians, Egyptians, and Canaanites. He also discusses the evolution of Israelite religion over time, from the early tribal period to the establishment of the monarchy and beyond. Marti's analysis is based on a close reading of the biblical text, as well as archaeological and historical evidence from the ancient Near East. The book provides a valuable resource for scholars and students of biblical studies, ancient history, and comparative religion. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
