Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The Island of Dr. Moreau is a science fiction novel written by H.G. Wells. The story follows a man named Edward Prendick who is stranded on an island after his ship sinks. He is rescued by a man named Montgomery who takes him to the island where he meets Dr. Moreau, a mad scientist who has been conducting experiments on animals. Prendick soon discovers that Dr. Moreau has been using vivisection to create hybrid creatures that are part animal and part human. The novel explores themes of morality, ethics, and the boundaries of science. It is a classic work of science fiction that has been adapted into various films and television series.BUT the islanders, seeing that I was really adrift, took pity on me. I drifted very slowly to the eastward, approaching the island slantingly; and presently I saw, with hysterical relief, the launch come round and return towards me.This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
