Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

""The Lady From The Sea"" is a play written by the Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen. It was first published in 1888 and is considered to be one of Ibsen's most poetic and symbolic works. The play tells the story of Ellida Wangel, a woman who is haunted by her past and her desire for freedom. She is married to Dr. Wangel, a kind and understanding man, but she feels trapped in their marriage and longs to return to the sea, where she grew up. When a former lover from her past arrives in town, Ellida must confront her feelings and decide whether to stay with her husband or follow her heart. The play explores themes of love, freedom, and the struggle between duty and desire. It is a powerful and emotional work that continues to be performed and studied today.Bolette. Yes! I think we live very much as the carp down there in the pond. They have the fjord so near them, where the shoals of wild fishes pass in and out. But the poor, tame house-fishes know nothing, and they can take no part in that. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
