Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The Street of Seven Stars is a novel written by Mary Roberts Rhinehart. The story is set in Vienna, Austria, and follows the life of a young American woman named Harmony Wells. Harmony comes to Vienna to study music and falls in love with a young Austrian man named Peter Byrne. However, their relationship is complicated by the fact that Peter is already engaged to a wealthy Austrian woman named Hilda. As Harmony struggles to come to terms with her feelings for Peter, she also becomes involved in the lives of other characters on the street where she lives, known as the Street of Seven Stars. These include a wealthy American woman named Mrs. Dane, who is searching for her missing daughter, and a young Jewish woman named Olga who is trying to escape the anti-Semitic persecution of the time. The novel explores themes of love, sacrifice, and the clash of cultures, as well as the political tensions of the time. Rhinehart's vivid descriptions of Vienna and its people bring the city to life, and her well-drawn characters make for a compelling and emotional read. The Street of Seven Stars is a timeless tale of love and redemption that will appeal to readers of all ages.""The branch of a tree was thrown out in front of the sled to send us over the bank. It was murder, if intention is crime.""This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
