Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The Wanderings of Oisin is a epic poem by the renowned Irish poet, William Butler Yeats. First published in 1889, the poem tells the story of Oisin, a warrior and poet from Irish mythology, who after living for three centuries in the land of the faeries, returns to Ireland only to find that everything he once knew has changed. Oisin reflects on his past adventures, his love for Niamh, a fairy queen, and his time spent in the Otherworld. He also grapples with the realities of aging and mortality, as he realizes that the world he once knew has vanished forever. The poem is rich in symbolism and imagery, drawing on traditional Irish mythology and folklore to create a vivid and evocative portrait of a bygone era. The Wanderings of Oisin is considered one of Yeats' most important works, and is widely regarded as a masterpiece of Irish literature.NOW, man of croziers, shadows called our names And then away, away, like whirling flames; And now fled by, mist-covered, without sound, The youth and lady and the deer and hound; ""Gaze no more on the phantoms,' Niamh said, And kissed my eyes, and, swaying her bright head And her bright body, sang of faery and man. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
