The two men have formed a club called ""The Woman Haters"" where they meet regularly to discuss their disdain for women. However, their views are challenged when a young woman named Ruth comes to live with them. Ruth is a strong-willed and independent woman who quickly becomes a beloved member of their community. As the men get to know Ruth, they begin to question their beliefs and reconsider their stance on women. The novel explores themes of gender roles, societal expectations, and the power of friendship. It is a heartwarming story that highlights the importance of acceptance and open-mindedness.""Aw, come off! Woman-hater! You hate women same as the boy at the poorhouse hated ice cream--'cause there ain't none around. Why, I wouldn't trust you as fur as I could see you!""This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
