Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

A Stitch and a Prayer follows a lonely young wife who waits, prays, and stitches her way through a separation she never saw coming. After her fiancé returns from the Klondike gold rush in 1897, Florence Harms begins building a new life in marriage to her young husband, Will, even as the lingering effects of illness leave her weak and vulnerable. Together they work to clear the land around their Northwest cabin, content with a modest life. Then a stranger comes knocking, and Florence senses a restlessness in Will's spirit she has never seen before. When he leaves with only a note promising to return before their baby is born, she is devastated, and the illness that stiffens her joints returns. To hold onto hope, Florence pours herself into a Tree of Life quilt that maps the farm they call home, counting the days until Will walks back through the door. As doubt claws at her, she clings to his promise and to her faith that God will sustain her until she sees her beloved again. Set in the alluring Pacific Northwest, A Stitch and a Prayer is a tender historical romance that brings a fresh time period and setting to the Quilts of Love series of stand-alone novels. It is written by Eva Gibson, an established Christian author who drew on her own family farm in Wilsonville, Oregon, as the story's setting.
