Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The History of Heresies and Their Refutation: Or, The Triumph of the Church is a book written by Alphonsus M. Liguori that provides a comprehensive account of the various heresies that have arisen throughout the history of the Catholic Church. The book covers a wide range of topics, including the origins of heresies, their development, and the ways in which the Church has responded to them.Liguori's work is divided into two parts. The first part focuses on the history of heresies, beginning with the early heresies of Gnosticism and Marcionism and continuing through the Middle Ages and up to the modern era. The second part of the book provides a detailed refutation of each of these heresies, demonstrating the ways in which they are inconsistent with Catholic doctrine and explaining how the Church has responded to them over time.Throughout the book, Liguori emphasizes the importance of understanding the history of heresies in order to better appreciate the teachings of the Church and to defend them against those who would seek to undermine them. He also emphasizes the need for Catholics to remain vigilant against the dangers of heresy and to be prepared to defend their faith against those who would seek to lead them astray.Overall, The History of Heresies and Their Refutation is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history of the Catholic Church and the ways in which it has responded to challenges to its teachings over time. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
