She also examines the Countess's work in establishing chapels, schools, and other charitable institutions, as well as her role in promoting the work of prominent evangelical preachers such as George Whitefield and John Wesley. In addition to the Countess herself, Tytler also profiles many of the other influential figures in her circle, including Lady Anne Erskine, Lady Margaret Fordyce, and Lady Huntingdon's chaplains and supporters.
