Forty Years In The Turkish Empire Or, Memoirs Of Rev. William Goodell is a book written by E. D. G. Prime that chronicles the life and work of Reverend William Goodell, an American missionary who spent four decades in the Ottoman Empire during the 19th century. The book provides a detailed account of Goodell's experiences, including his efforts to establish schools, promote religious freedom, and advocate for the rights of Armenians and other minorities in the region. It also examines the political and social conditions of the Ottoman Empire during this period, including the impact of the Crimean War and the growing tensions between Christians and Muslims. Through Goodell's perspective, the book offers a unique insight into the challenges and opportunities of missionary work in a complex and rapidly changing cultural landscape. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
