Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

""The Vatican Decrees In Their Bearing On Civil Allegiance: A Political Expostulation"" is a book written by W. E. Gladstone, a British politician and statesman, in response to the Vatican's declaration of papal infallibility in 1870. The book argues that the decree undermines civil allegiance by placing the authority of the Pope above that of the state, and that it poses a threat to the liberties of non-Catholic citizens. Gladstone also critiques the Catholic Church's political influence and argues that the Vatican Decrees have implications for the relationship between church and state. The book is a significant historical document, offering insight into the religious and political tensions of the late 19th century. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
