Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

The Works of Saint-Pierre is a collection of three literary works by French author Jacques-Henri Bernardin de Saint-Pierre. The first work, Studies of Nature, is a philosophical and scientific exploration of the natural world, including topics such as geology, meteorology, and botany. The second work, Paul and Virginia, is a romantic novel that tells the story of two childhood friends who fall in love as adults but are ultimately separated by tragedy. The third work, Indian Cottage, is a short story about a young Englishman who travels to India and falls in love with a local woman, but is forced to confront the cultural and social barriers that stand in the way of their relationship. Together, these three works showcase Saint-Pierre's wide-ranging interests and talents as a writer, and offer readers a glimpse into the intellectual and cultural landscape of 18th-century France. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
