Kurzbeschreibung des Verlags

Up From Georgia is a memoir written by Frank L. Stanton, an American poet, humorist, and journalist. The book chronicles Stanton's life growing up in rural Georgia during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Stanton shares his experiences of living in poverty, attending school, and working odd jobs to support himself and his family. He also reflects on the racial tensions and segregation that were prevalent in the South during his youth. Despite the challenges he faced, Stanton's love for literature and writing led him to pursue a career as a journalist and eventually become the Poet Laureate of Georgia. Through his witty and poignant anecdotes, Stanton provides a vivid portrait of life in the South during a time of great social and political change. Up From Georgia is a compelling and insightful memoir that offers a unique perspective on American history and culture. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
